the search

4:30 am
sitting on my bed;

my two eyes
scan the orange sky
searching for something
in me

You won't find it up there, darling... mind you, to coin a phrase... "we are stardust, we are golden..."

Maybe you will.

I love to scan the skies, especially when I used to live in South Florida - the clouds there looks like massive drifting mountains, visible for miles and miles due to the very flat terrain. I remember many an occasion being able to see a storm in the distance, watching the rain and the lighting, while seeing a neighboring area of the sky clear as a bell.

I've yet to find more beautiful skies than when I lived there - but the weather can be very unpredictable; it's raining somewhere in the state of Florida about 90% of the time. It was there I came the closest to a lightning strike (about two meters, but I was in a car and insulated - I hope), and the closest I ever came to a "twister," a mini-tornado (about two or three car lengths, and I was in a car but nowhere near feeling safe as it tossed drainage pipes from a construction site around like toothpicks). Mother Nature rules Florida, without a doubt...

Did you happen to see me there, I'm not exactly orange but a little underneath it more of a burnt sienna.I saw you in my sky yesterday , sort of a brilliant orange rasberry color, kind of like sherbert ice cream!
