language of love

a little puppy
nervously hides behind the plants,
long legs pass him
some scaring him and some ignoring him.

a small boy
twice the size of the little puppy
watches him with wonderstruck eyes.
running towards the little puppy,
in his most softest and affectionate voice,
the small boy says, "Meaow"

Dad whispers from behind
"he is not a meaow son, he is a bow bow"
the little puppy runs anyways
into the loving arms of the small boy
and licks his rosy cheeks

the language of love
needs neither correction nor interpretation.

Ahh, the unconditional love of a puppy. This Lone "Puppy" Wolf gives you licks on your rosy cheeks. Great poem Anu.

Simple and wonderful. I don't know why I thought of this but for some reason your poem made me remember the movie "Love Story". I don't know if you've ever seen it but it was a seventies tear jerker. Really sappy and contrived so of course it was wildly popular. Anyhow, there was a line in the movie where the female lead tales the male lead "Love means never having to say you're sorry". I always thought that was crap, moreover rude. Love doesn't mean that at all. Love means that you never have to say you're forgiven because its already known that you are.
Anyhow, lovely poem and forgive my tangent, please.

Lone - Ummm, my wet rosy cheeks feel so lovely...especially after you've licked them so well. What else do you love to lick lone? :-)

Dark - Yup, my love is neither close to the unconditonal love of the small boy nor the little puppy.

Ozy - Thank you for the lovely love story. I've not seen it. And i cannot see it for a while. If you've been reading my blog, you'd know, it does not take me much to cry. Maybe someday, when i have healed totally, i will watch it and remember you. Or maybe we both can watch it together :))

And i loved what you quoted:
Love means that you never have to say you're forgiven because its already known that you are.
Awesome Ozy :-)

Johnny - Hey Johnny, thank you. How've you been?

Also, I have taken the liberty of putting your link on my blog.
